My drinks of choice were endorsed by the Pope himself. And probably God.

Wolf 9 here. Bernardus is one of my favourites, I must admit. Rochefort less so

Well, there's that bit about work in the morning. I just finished the second, and while I'm feeling quite good, I think the third is in order. Because America.

It's not the most crafty and pretentious of choices, but for a summer beer, I can respect it.

One does not drink Pil in order to impress others, unless one considers shotgunning impressive.

If I'm going to be completely honest, I love Abt 12, but I'm not convinced that there aren't nearly-comparable beers for significantly less money.

I'm actually a huge fan of Victory Prima Pilsner with homemade Mexican food. That said, I can't shake the fact that Tom Hanks is basically a modern day saint, and I have to agree with everything that he says.

I don't even think Old Style Pilsner is even an actual pilsner. It's a cheap Molson variety drunk by football fans, grandpas, metalheads, grease monkeys, and whatever other white trash that just wants a free hat mug, or board game thrown in with their 12-pack. Think of it as a western Canadian PBR.

I do of course have the advantage of living in Belgium. My local pub sells them for 2 euros and the shop for around one a bottle. In any case, it's significantly cheaper than westvleteren, which is pretty much identical.

If I remember correctly, that bottle of Abt 12 cost the equivalent of 3.50 or so. Maybe a little less. That was from the liquor store though. If a pub here sold them for $2.75/bottle, I would be a loyal customer for life.
